NEW for 2024-2025: Effective July 17, 2024, recipients of a Vic/UofT award may defer their fees using the "Tuition Fee Deferral" option on ACORN in the Finances section, provided that their award amount covers the Minimum Payment to Register (as displayed on their ACORN invoice). 

Please keep in mind of the following to be eligible to defer your fees.  

Criteria:

  • I am a Victoria College student in the Faculty of Arts & Science.
  • I have enrolled in courses on ACORN for the Fall/Winter session.
  • I do NOT have any arrears (outstanding fees) from a previous session.
  • My mailing address is valid and up-to-date on ACORN. 
  • The value of my Vic/UofT scholarship covers at least the minimum payment required for registration (MPR). For the minimum payment amount, see Financial Account Invoice Format on ACORN in late July/early August.

Log into ACORN to Defer Your Fees

Fees Deferral Deadline: August 27, 2024

Once you have clicked on the "Tuition Fee Deferral" link on ACORN, you can confirm immediately that your registration status has changed from "Invited" to "Registered."

  • Your outstanding fees will remain the same until the award is credited to your ACORN account.
  • Awards will be credited to the ACORN financial account likely by late September upon confirmation of registration.  Please monitor your ACORN account for the payment.
  • Set up direct deposit in advance on ACORN to receive any eligible award refund after outstanding fees have been deducted. Credit refunds will be issued by the UofT Student Accounts Office in late fall.
  • Note that students are still responsible for paying any remaining outstanding fees once this deferral is processed. Refer to Student Accounts for payment deadlines.

What if the value of my Vic/UofT award does NOT cover the Minimum Payment to Register (MPR)?

You have two options:

1. You may pay the total amount owing minus the scholarship amount by Aug. 27 (fees payment deadline) to complete your registration.

  • Once the payment is received by the university (which may take up to 10 business days), this will change your "Invited" registration status to "Registered" on ACORN.
  • Your award will then automatically be credited to your ACORN account in late September/early October.
  • Please monitor your ACORN account for these updates.

 2. You may pay the MPR amount minus the scholarship amount by Aug. 27 to complete your registration.

  • It is recommended that the rest of the outstanding balance be paid by the end of September.
  • Keep in mind that service charges will begin in mid-October.
  • Once the payment is received by the university (which may take up to 10 business days), this will change your "Invited" registration status to "Registered" on ACORN.
  • Your award will then automatically be credited to your ACORN account in late September/early October.
  • Please monitor your ACORN account for these updates.
